Warm Thoughts, Warm Thoughts…. maybe if we say that enough it will really come true. Every year in the warm part of the year, Centralia Balloonfest occurs in a park in, you guessed it, Centralia. Above is the standard “Glow” image that everyone likes to take. Don’t get me wrong, as far as beauty, this is really up there! The technical steps to get a good exposure, the composition to balance this, and the forethought and planning to get in the right place are all needed to come up with the “Image“. I however appreciate the work the ballooners go through to get these giants off the ground.

The Belly Of The Beast shows the balloon being expanded with a huge fan. The top of the balloon has not been shut yet and that is what the people you see at the end of the balloon are doing. To take this picture you have to use another great skill necessary to all photographers! The ability to schmooze, to be able to talk to strangers and make them believe you are trustworthy, professional and will not make the balloon go up in flame.
