Hidden Lake Overlook GNP

Hidden Lake Overlook

Starting out at the visitor center we hiked up Logan Pass on a cold, bright morning. The wind was just enough to remind us that it was there. Along the way we saw blankets of wildflowers, and bits of the snow mass melting away to form rivers of color and water. There were reminders along the trail, telling us to avoid standing on those snow bridges for at any time they could melt and we would be part of one of those streams. We walked on and my friend told me a tale of another of our friends wading out in a small pond on the way to pee so that part of their pee would go into the Atlantic, while the other part would go to Pacific, for we were at the Continental Divide. After a laugh at this tall tale we went on passing Big Horn Sheep and Mountain Goats and more than a few Marmots. As we came over this top of the trail this beautiful view laid out before us. Clouds above us, fog in the valley below and a grand lake at the base of a magnificent mountain was the sight laid out before use. Hidden Lake is as beautiful from the top of Logan Pass as it is on it’s shores.
